Undefeated WBO jr. welterweight champion MIGUEL COTTO,
and his opponent, MUHAMMAD ABDULLAEV, the last
man to defeat Cotto -- at the 2000 Olympics -- PLUS
former WBA super featherweight champion and Olympic gold medalist
JOEL CASAMAYOR and his opponent, undefeated
"KID DIAMOND," (real name
Almazbek Raiymkulov), will host a news conference luncheon
THIS THURSDAY! April 21, beginning
at 11 AM, at Madison Square Garden's
Theatre Lobby. Bob Arum and the
fighters will announce their world championship event, which will take
place Saturday, June 11, at Madison Square Garden. HBO will televise
it live nationally, beginning at 10 P.M. ET / 10 P.M. PT (Tape Delay on
the West Coast.)
Cotto, of Puerto Rico, and Abdullaev,
of Uzbekistan, will go mano-a-mano as Cotto seeks revenge
for the Olympic gold medal won by Abdullaev. Casamayor,
of Cuba, and Diamond,
of Krygystan, will rumble in a 12-round lightweight title
elimination bout.
