SWORN ENEMIES... WHEN TRASH TALKING GOES TOO FAR

By Desiree Carter

Zab Judah is a good fighter that has done nothing but demoralize himself, lately in the public’s eye. Mine anyway.

So when does trash talking go too far? Is there such a thing as going too far? After all it is a part of the sport.

It goes too far when the infamous Mike Tyson says “I’ll eat your kids…”  Although, Zab hasn’t said anything that can touch that statement, he’s heading down that path.  Did you really need to take it to the streets Zab? He says, “Floyd don’t want to see me on the streets, he know what I’ll do.” Yoel says, “When you push our buttons, you got problems…” and “We from Brooklyn, we take, that’s what we’re here to do...”

WHAT? Everybody knows it’s not where you from it’s where you at. And where he’ll be is in the ring with the Einstein of boxing. But as we see, the apple doesn’t fall far from the Judah family tree. Yoel and Zab have already shown that they have lost the battle in the war of words, and Mayweather Jr. hasn’t even touched him yet. I think you guys are taking Lil’ Kim’s song “Lighters Up” way too seriously. Do you think for a second Mayweather Jr. is stressing himself like Zab is? It’s not that serious or is it? Do you think that by you calling him on his cell and him not answering proves you punked him out? No, it shows how ignorant you are. He’s man enough not to stoop to that level of ignorance. Come on Zab, this isn’t high school, this is boxing.

Yes, Zab matches Mayweather Jr. in speed and power. But he doesn’t match him in defense, intelligence, and chin. All the training and so called being focused will not prepare him for the Mayweather Jr. Boot Camp for Thugs. Zab will have to prove he has the right frame of mind to endure all 12 rounds.  Zab’s street mentality holds him back from greatness. And that’s nobody's fault but his own.

So I’ll go with this history to come for a 100 years, as Yoel said. Brain over Brawn, any day. It’s even more of a dangerous combination when one man possesses both.

So Zab can bring the storm, Katrina, whatever he wants to compare his son to. But Mayweather Jr. will continue to bring the lightning. It can be cloudy or clear skies, lightning can strike without warning. And that’s something you can never watch out for, it’s unpredictable. So to put in the Hip Hop terms of Lil’ Wayne “...you can spark it up but he will put you out…” Couldn’t have applied to a better scenario.

April 8th, Mayweather Jr. KO’s Judah in the 5th round.
