EDOUARD - BEAUPIERRE REMATCH HEADLINES APRIL 23 ESPN2 FNF

Promoter Richie Cappiello is excited to be bringing ESPN to "The City of Champions" for the first time. "We are extremely happy to be having the rematch of one of the best fights of the year in Brockton," said Cappiello. "The plan is to match the winners of the two main bouts this summer on ESPN."

Both fighters felt they had won their first encounter on Showbox but two of the three  judges scored it dead even, hence the majority draw.

Beaupierre, who feels that he was shortchanged the first time around, is motivated to show that he is the better fighter. "I was shocked by the draw in our first fight," said the 28 year old Beaupierre. "I know I did enough to win the fight especially in the last half of it. This time around I'm going to be busier as well as punch in combinations. Hopefully a knockout will come but I am training to go 10 hard rounds."

Edouard believes he saw Beaupierre's best and that this time around the fight will be much different. "I basically made a simple fight difficult by not doing anything that I had trained to do," said Edouard. "My diet wasn't up to par and my conditioning was less than great but this time my mindset and conditioning are much improved. I plan on winning by stoppage but I am very well prepared to go the distance if I have to."

The co-feature will showcase Willie "The Gladiator" Gibbs, 16-0, (13), against an opponent to be announced shortly. Gibbs, of Philadelphia, is coming off of an impressive win over Glen Rayburn on ESPN2 in February.

Tickets can be purchased by calling Jenna at 1-888-490-2900. Fights will begin at 7:30 with the doors opening at 5:00 and the undercard being announced soon. For directions to the Shaw's Covention Center in Brockton,MA visit www.cappielloboxing.com.
