YORGEY WINS UNANIMOUS DECISION OVER CLAY AT THE LEGENDARY BLUE HORIZON

“Lightning” Harry Joe Yorgey of Bridgeport, PA remained undefeated and avenged the only blemish on his record by pounding out a ten round unanimous decision over Martinus Clay in a Jr. Middleweight bout to cap an eight bout card at The Legendary Blue Horizon.

Yorgey was very consistent as he landed an assortment of punches that kept Clay from gaining any kind of momentum to mount a big comeback.

Yorgey landed shots to both sides of Clay’s body and was precise with the right upper cut and seized control of the fight in front of the pro-Yorgey crowd which included the nationally-ranked Pop Warner football team for which Yorgey is a coach for.  The team walked Yorgey into the ring.

“It’s a fight I been waiting for.  I wanted to avenge that draw” said Yorgey.  “I won the first time.  He fights only the best in the world and you have to be prepared to fight him.”

Scores of the bout were 98-92, 98-92 and 96-94.

With the win, Yorgey is 20-0-1 and Clay is 12-18-2

In other fights, Furuq Saleem won his thirty-seventh straight bout by scoring a majority decision over veteran trial horse, Sedrick Fields in a six round Heavyweight bout.

Scores were 58-56m 58-56 and 57-57.

Philadelphia based Jr. Welterweight, Henry Lundy was explosive in taking out late replacement Starr Johnson at 2:44 of round one of a scheduled four round bout.

Lundy dropped Johnson twice and the effect of the second knockdown forced the referee to stop the fight after Johnson was unsteady on his feet.
