AN OPEN LETTER TO SEAN GIBBONS By Elisa Harrison |

Mr. Gibbons:
I am writing this letter to go on public record regarding a phone call I received from a man who identified himself as Sean Gibbons on Friday, January 16th at approximately 11:45pm. On Wednesday, January 14th I wrote and posted an article entitled "The Top Rank Scandal Is Old News." Part of the article refers to the Oklahoma Department of Labor report, which describes in full detail alleged fraudulent and illegal activities by Sean Gibbons, Pete Susens and Bruce Trampler, all present and/or former employees of Top Rank. Late Friday night I received a call on my cellular phone from someone who identified himself -and in my opinion sounded like- Sean Gibbons. The caller ID indicated that the call originated from a Las Vegas area code. My first thought was that the call was about my article, and I was prepared to hold my ground. Much to my surprise, the person who identified himself as Sean Gibbons went on to offer me a fight for a boxer with whom I work. The person who identified himself as Sean Gibbons also told me of promoter Jeff X being on the other line, and both individuals then proceeded to discuss the terms of the fight, etc. I don't know the real purpose of the phone call, but I do feel that offering me a fight was the least of the intentions. So, Mr. Gibbons or whomever this person was, your phone call to me is now a matter of public record. While it is hard to fathom how any promoter could be using Sean Gibbons' services considering his present situation, anything is possible, and, if in fact promoter Jeff X exists, please be hereby advised that my fighter is not interested in your offer. Therefore, there needs not be any further communication between the man who identified himself as Sean Gibbons and me. Elisa Harrison
