BREWSTER BLOWS OUT GOLOTA By Jim Amato |

What an upset... This was to be the coronation of Andrew Golota as the new W.B.O heavyweight champion. In his fourth try Andrew was projected by many to capture this, the least respected version of the fragmented title. From here he would either get a rematch with W.B.A. titleholder John Ruiz or I.B.F. champion Chris Byrd. Maybe even a mega buck match with Vitali. NOT !!!
Brewster had Golota down soon after the bout started. Andrew arose but was then battered through the ropes. Andrew at least struggled to get back on his feet but he was battered again to the canvas ending the fight and his dream. How can a fighter be good enough to battle champions John Ruiz and Chris Byrd in life and death struggles then get tamed in one round? Give Brewster his due. He surprised a lot of people, myself included. One thing is for certain...Lamon's in the Major League's now. 5-21-2005
