Re:     Reporting Requirements on Ratings Changes

Dear Ms. Muhammad:

It has come to the attention of the Association of Boxing Commissions ("ABC") that several of the sanctioning organizations have not been in compliance with 15 USC ยง6307c.(c) which states:

"A sanctioning organization shall not be entitled to receive any compensation, directly or indirectly, in connection with a boxing match, until, with respect to a change in the rating of a boxer previously rated by such organization in the top 10 boxers, the organization-

(1)           posts a copy, within 7 days of such change, on its Internet website or home page, if any, including an explanation of such change, for a period of not less than 30 days; and

(2)            provides a copy of the rating change and explanation to an association to which at least a majority of the State boxing commissions belong."

By way of this letter, the ABC strongly encourages compliance with this provision in the federal law by each sanctioning organization.

Please be advised that, as expressly provided in the above-quoted section of the federal law, if a sanctioning organization is not compliant with both of these requirements regarding the publication of ratings changes and the explanation(s) therefore, the ABC member boxing commissions will make every effort to ensure the withholding of sanctioning fees and all other compensation due to the offending sanctioning organization pending the sanctioning organization's compliance with the law.  A change in your organization's ratings, and an explanation of such changes, can be faxed to my attention at (573) 751-5649 or mailed to the above address.

In addition, as President of the ABC, I encourage each sanctioning organization to maintain its periodic ratings on its website for a period of twelve months for easy comparison by the general public.

I look forward to your compliance with the above-quoted federal law, as well as the maintenance of your organization's periodic ratings for twelve months on your website.  If you have any questions, please to not hesitate to contact the ABC.

Sincerely,

Timothy J. Lueckenhoff
             President
