While most rabid boxing fans will know exactly who I am referring to, what the great majority
of you probably don't know is the name of the “joint”... Allow me to solve the mystery; the
joint is an unceremonious boxing gym in Hollywood, Florida, a training facility that makes up
for its simplicity with the energy and experience of its instructors as well as the dedication
of the trainees who faithfully report for duty.
The joint's name is CONTENDER’S GYM, located on Plunkett Street in Hollywood, Florida; at the
heart of it are instructors Norman Wilson, Chico Rivas and José Guzmán.
The action is electrifying, the visual definitely a thing of beauty, a source of respect for
all men and women who endure this daily grind to give us their all in the ring. My hat is off
